Urban Voices Collective or UVC is a non-profit corporation that was founded to have have a diverse group of professional hip hop, spoken word, singers, musicians, and other artists share their craft with people in San Francisco Bay Area communities—particularly youth in disadvantaged communities.  Through UVC, a diverse group of artists give free performances and interactive workshops to inspire, uplift, educate, and edify community residents.  These events take place at community venues such as juvenile halls, community centers, schools, colleges, drug and alcohol recovery facilities, shelters, festivals at parks, theatres, etc.

UVC Mission Statement

The Mission of Urban Voices Collective is to foster a positive difference in the lives of people, especially youth, living in socially and economically disadvantaged communities by presenting powerful conscious-raising music performances and workshops that will inspire, enlighten, and provide them with cultural enrichment.  The performances, rendered by experienced professional artists, are tailored to be relevant and highly engaging, so as to make an indelible impression on various members of these communities.

The Purpose:  to foster a difference in the lives of people living in disadvantaged communities. The Vision:  present influential conscious-raising music performances that will uplift people and inspire them to pursue productive lives.   The Values:  involve performing artists and presenters who are highly-talented, competent, professional, caring, who uphold commonly recognized moral values and standards of excellence.
